How To Be In Awe Of Allah

We are in the closing of the year 2021 alhamdulilah for all that it brought with it. May Allah have mercy on all of our sisters, brothers, and grandparents that returned to Him. May Allah cleanse those afflicted with hardship of their sins. May Allah direct those blessed with development and wealth to empty themselves in service and pour into depleted love tanks.

To be in awe of Allah is to be conscious of His steady presence in our lives.

5. Show interest in God's beauty.

Greet the sunrise and relax with the sunset. Spend time with the light of the moon and the twinkles of the stars. Reflect and tie the magnificence you see back to Allah’s gentleness and artistry. You’ll find Allah’s beauty in the creativity of humans, in the pounds, grass, snow, birds and people. In those moments of appreciating God's decoration—saying Subhanallah, Alhamdulilah, sounds and feels different. Those words of God's praises intensify the beauty of Allah's design, creating deep spiritual healing.

4. Make Allah the Friend you confined in.

Those emotional moments you take to your valued group—take it to Allah first. You never know what you’re truly missing in this parched world when you aren't confining in Allah with your deepest secrets and being nourished. It’s an unexplainable exchange with your Rabb. As you’re lost trying to find the right words, trying to speak in between your tears struggling to compose yourself—Allah lifts all that burdens you without you even feeling it. He already knows your needs and wants before you unlock them for yourself. Allah pours into you with His blessings, the ones you never knew you needed, let alone ask for it. Vulnerability with our loved ones grows intimacy and trust. Imagine the type of relationship you can develop with your Creator being vulnerable with Him, and trusting Allah who possesses your soul. Glory be to Allah.

3. To be in awe of Allah The Most Compassionate is to be thankful to Allah.

Practicing shukr—gratitude—requires mindfulness. It is asking Allah for guidance in your life for all the things that seem impossible. When you find yourself buzzing with new ideas and a new journey in your life, it’s from Allah. Being thankful to Allah means paying attention to how much you credit yourself for His blessings upon you, and how much you truly credit Allah. Highlight your weaknesses and the blessings in your life to Allah.

“Ya Allah, thank you for the knowledge you enriched me in, thank you for my family you fitted me with, thank you for the health you granted me, thank you for the wealth, security, and for sheltering me.”

Develop your way of expressing gratitude for Allah S.W.T, and fall in love with those humble intimate interactions with your Lord.

Allah says in Surah Ibrahim Ayah 7, “And ˹remember˺ when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. But if you are ungrateful, surely My punishment is severe.’”

2. Stop running away from the Quran.

The Quran is sent down to us as guidance and a reminder. The Quran is God's words and in it, Allah talks to us, warns us, loves us, and illustrates the resilience of our beautiful Prophets. Allah quotes them and shares their dua’s with us to benefit. Allah gives us hope and calls us towards Him to be successors in this world and the next. He reassures us, "I am the Most Compassionate." He educates us on our rights and how to respond to the challenges of the world. The Quran is a miracle, the Quran is alive. The Quran is the best gift in this entire world. The best gift in this entire world sits on our shelves covered by dust.

Awareness of the Quran's power is the inspiration you need to push back on all the shaytans on your back diverting you. Everything that goes through your mind when it comes to connecting with the Quran—is all anxiety and excuse.

Allah promises repeatedly in Surah Qamar 54, "And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will be mindful?"

Stop running away from the Quran to be in Awe of Allah. With the help of Ar-Raheem become someone that runs towards the Quran.

Some one that trips and falls, gets back up, still running towards it, tumbles again, over and over, and over again!

Running away from the Quran and all the mishaps you will encounter on that path is torture in this world and painful reality in the next. Fight the shaytan's tricks, becoming his follower in this world and following him into a blazing destination in the afterlife.

1. Never give up on your Salah.

Salah is submission to Allah, it's an act of worship that raises our amazement for Allah. However, many Muslims have a bumpy relationship with salah and are deeply ashamed and insecure to do anything about it.

Another one of the devil's schemes!

My reminder to you and myself is the only One that can help us is Allah. He is sufficient and capable of ALL things. Go to him defeated and stop running away from your Creator. You don’t have to keep hurting and being lost in this temporary life! Change the condition of your heart, cleanse your intentions and acknowledge the block in your heart. Ask Allah to help you in your salah journey and watch your entire life transform in a way you’ve never envisioned—observe how your love for your Lord boosts!

Allah named us Muslims, one that submits to God. Allah selected that word for us. He is Greater than our love for Him. More merciful and compassionate than what our limited human minds visualize. Allah S.W.T is consistent and permanently close, even when the waves and rollercoasters of life displace us. Life without Allah is a punishment to our souls.

2021 for me felt like being in the presence of my dear grandparents—May Allah shower his mercy on their souls that returned to Him. If I could capture 2021 in one word, it would be a teacher. The year 2021 had a senior presence, and Allah guided me to the role of a student. I learned a lot, I am in awe of God, in love with the journey, and shedding a whole bunch of weight. If you could capture 2021 in one word, what would it be?

Hey, I leave you with these Duas.

May Allah, out of His bounty and Majesty, remove all the barriers in your life currently. May He, our Protector, shield you and all that you value in your life from harm in all the forms it comes in. May Allah guide your journey and remind you you’re not alone—you have Him. May Allah out of His kindness and mercy, and out of His Knowledge of our weakness connect you to His Beautiful Words. The living Quran.

In return, our cherished friends, we request duas from you for our team and Abāyo House—make it unique! Ameen! Ameen! Ameen! Subscribe to our journey on all the platforms we are on. We love and enjoy when you share your thoughts with us, let’s continue to connect!
